Review the receipt, add your payers, then assign or share each item.
Send an itemised statement, save an image or export a PDF.
For app issues, feedback or feature requests, email the TaHinny support address.
Flatten the receipt, use even light and include every item, the quantity column and the final total. Avoid shadows, glare and blur. On the photo screen, crop away unrelated background, rotate if needed, then read the receipt.
For a long receipt, add clear overlapping photos and review any possible duplicates. The app accepts up to eight images for the current bill.
Recognition can miss text or confuse quantities and prices. Compare the original image with the item names, counts, line totals, currency and charges. Check marked details, correct mistakes and enter the printed final total if it was missed.
A matching total does not prove every quantity is right. A steak size or product number can look like an item count. Always check the item counts too. The app asks you to accept the reviewed receipt before splitting.
Use a complete itemised receipt rather than an order number, payment-only slip or cropped total. If a scan is incomplete, try a clearer photo or use Other ways to add for Files, pasted receipt text or manual entry. Do not fill in a hidden price or quantity by guesswork.
Choose a payer, then add the units they had. Open an item’s sharing controls to divide a unit equally or enter custom shares. Check the current payer’s itemised amount as you go. Undo is available for recent changes.
Check whether the receipt already includes a charge before adding it. Charges and discounts can be divided proportionally, equally or over selected items. A tip added outside the printed receipt is kept separate from the receipt’s own total.
Included VAT is already part of the price; it should not be added again. The app calculates amounts to the penny, including indivisible shared amounts.
Receipt details lets you choose GBP, EUR, USD, AUD or CAD. Check the currency and amounts before accepting the scan. The app does not convert between currencies or obtain exchange rates. Recognition works best with clear English-language receipts.
When all items are assigned and the receipt reconciles, open the bills screen. Share an image, copy the text, save an image to Photos, or use Print / PDF. If a statement is too long for one image, use PDF or copy the full text.
If Photos permission is denied, use Share to save a file or allow photo additions in Settings. The app confirms Save image only after Photos reports success. Sending a statement does not make or confirm a payment.
The app saves the current bill locally on this device. There is no synced account or receipt history. Use Continue current bill to return to your work. Starting another bill asks before replacing the current one.
If a storage warning appears, keep the app open and export the statements you need. A device backup is not a recovery plan for the receipt store. Read about storage and deletion.
Receipt recognition, editing and splitting run on your device. A cloud-only photo or file may first need to download. Opening support links or sending a statement may also require an internet connection.
The native app supports iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 26 or later. Use Appearance to follow the system theme or choose light or dark. Larger text and accessibility appearance settings help keep the controls readable.
You can try the built-in demo before using your own receipt. Export any current bill first, because the demo replaces it after confirmation.
